About Our Club
The Waukesha County Gandy Dancers are a model railroad club for HO-Scale trains in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Operating for nearly 40 years, WCGD has a rich history designing and building top-tier layouts that feature realistic structures, geographic features and intricate track layouts.

History of WCGD
1985
Club Founded
The Waukesha County Gandy Dancers Model Railroad Club is founded in the City of Waukesha, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. The club was located in the former Fox Head Brewery building on Maple Avenue.
2006
Club Moves to Downtown Waukesha
WCGD moves to historic downtown Waukesha in the lower level of 831 N. Grand Avenue.
2009
Modular Design Complete
Our main layout is completed. It was built modular, and could be disassembled to be transported to Trainfest, an annual event in Milwaukee, WI.
2016
Layout is Made Permanent
Main layout becomes fixed in its location. It is approximately 20' x 50' and features scenic lighting for nighttime operations, as well as a real running water river.
2022
WCGD Moves To Larger Location
The club moves across the street to a much larger location at 741 N. Grand Avenue. The layout is currently under construction and is set to be considerably larger than our previous layout.
